This 4-week course is a series of lectures and conversations for both
women and men in which we will explore questions like:

What do most of us know of women's history and those who first pioneered women's rights?

What are gender norms and how are they constructed?
What is the role of the media in forming our view of femininity and masculinity?

How are churches talking about gender and gender roles?
How can common ground be found amidst the debates?

What is the work that remains to be done to achieve gender justice and bless women and girls of future generations?

 

 

Teacher Bio: Kimberly B. George is a teacher and writer who is passionate about the intersection of Christian faith, gender equality, and social justice. She is currently at work on her first book, Bites From the Apple: A Memoir of Faith, Voice, and Womanhood, and she blogs at faithandgender.blogspot.com. This fall she will be a merit scholar at Yale Divinity School.
